Happy New Year to all of our community,
Of course this is not the auspicious start that we were all hoping for at the beginning of the new year, but we now need to make the most of the situation we find ourselves in.
As a school community we have been planning for this eventuality since August. I attach our draft remote learning policy below for you to review. Should you have any queries about this please do not hesitate to email me.
Sonya and I have manually created a new blocked remote learning timetable where all subjects are blocked, for all years, into two hour sessions (1.5 hour sessions on Fridays). We hope that this will reduce the manic nature of trying to do 7-9 subjects per day and all of the digital connections that that entails. This will mean that each student from 1st – 6th year will have three subjects only per day.
During the last lockdown we were acutely aware of ongoing wellbeing issues for students and their families as strain was exerted on space in the home and digital resources. I have attached below our Guidance Lockdown Policy which details how each of our students can arrange a one to one session with the Counsellor should they require it.
Our Wellbeing/PE Departments will also be arranging a number of initiatives throughout January with the purpose of keeping all students physically active and connected with their peers. Further details will follow once we get the digital school up and running on Monday.
To facilitate a number of enforced timetable changes we will need the first teaching session on Monday for Departmental meetings. School on Monday 11th will start at 10.50am. Regular starting and finishing times will resume after that
